There is a widespread misconception that God the Father is the God of the Old Testament and Jesus emerges in the New Testament. Jesus is not a created being, but was God incarnated in human form through Mary. There is a profound difference between the divine Messiah and the Jewish expectation of a mere man anointed by God.
Jesus’ claim to divinity angered the Jewish leaders, leading to His crucifixion. Nevertheless, it established Him as the Creator and sustainer of all things. Jesus was directly involved in the formation of creation and appears numerous times in the Old Testament.
The Son of God spent time with Adam and Eve, visited Abraham with two angels, wrestled with Jacob, spoke to Moses from the burning bush, led Israel through the wilderness, and appeared to Joshua before the battle of Jericho. Jesus is both Lord and Creator. He is the same God responsible for the Old Testament and fulfilling it through His incarnation in the New Testament.
