The Russian Chief of General Staff, General Valery Gerasimov, revealed on Oct. 26, 2025, that his country’s Strategic Rocket Forces tested the 9M730 Burevestnik (Russian for “Storm Petrel,” NATO designation SSC-X-9 Skyfall) nuclear-powered cruise missile on Oct. 21.
