I am writing this newsletter on November 1, 2000 and by the time you receive your copy the American election process will be over. Thus, I will not be able to comment on the election in this month’s newsletter.
But I have something very exciting to share with you which I believe might change your life and the way you live. It has to do with your health. For a number of years I have spoken a slogan that should make people think, “NO BODY – NO MINISTRY!” God has given each one of us a physical body to use as a vehicle while we are living on the earth. Once we lose the vehicle, we are taken out of this planet. If the vehicle is damaged (sick or injured), it will curtail our physical activities, and if it is a very severe sickness or injury, it might put us in a wheel chair or on a life support system which puts our ministry down to a minimum of what it could be.
When I witnessed about this to a Russian Pentecostal brother some time ago, he floored me when he said this to me: “SO YOU WANT TO DIE HEALTHY?” When I heard that I first became perturbed, but the more I thought about it, the better it sounded. “Yes,” I told him, “I do want to die healthy!” There is much truth in this statement. God does not need to send a sickness to break down our bodies before he takes us home. When Moses was called home by God, Moses was 120 years old and had full strength and health. Deuteronomy 34:1-12
MY MEETING WITH PASTOR HENRY WRIGHT
During the month of December 1997 my wife and I received a telephone call from a good friend of ours. She told us that we must come to a meeting in San Rafael, California (just north of San Francisco) and hear Pastor Wright speak. My first response was to ask, “Who is this man anyway; I’ve never heard of him – I don’t have the time and the weather is very bad.” (This was the time of severe flooding in California). But the Holy Spirit would not let me alone, and I realized that God wanted me to go.
My wife and I and another couple from our church drove in a drenching rainstorm to the meeting. A trip that normally should have taken two hours took about four hours. In the dark and rainy night, we had a hard time finding the church where he was speaking. Eventually we located the church, parked, and under torrential rain we walked into the meeting cold and wet.
Pastor Henry is not a tall man, but when he began his preaching/teaching the presence of the Holy Spirit filled the room and there was no doubt that this man had heard from God and had received some revelation knowledge on the root causes of disease which I had been looking for. My wife and I have been praying for the sick since around 1969, and we have also helped people to be set free from demons when there has been a need.
I have known that bitterness very often leads to arthritis, but Pastor Henry listed disease after disease and then told us what the root problem was to each sickness. The man sounded like a mixture between a preacher and a well educated medical doctor. He pointed people to Jesus, told them what the Bible says on forgiveness, and after several hours of teaching, he gave an invitation for people to come for prayer. We left the meeting around midnight and they were still going strong, and as we drove home in the rain, I knew in my heart that I must meet this man again and learn from him. Before I left I gave him a copy of The Dove magazine and my telephone number.
PASTOR WRIGHT COMES TO SACRAMENTO
A few weeks after that meeting, I received a telephone call from Pastor Henry. He told me that he had to come to Sacramento for the purpose of ministering to a Jewish woman who did not believe in Jesus, but due to her terminal illness he was willing to try anything that could heal her. He asked me if I wanted him to come on a Wednesday night and minister in our church. I said yes, and had only one day to advertise the meeting on my radio broadcast. There is no question in my mind but that our meeting with Pastor Henry and his wife was what I call a “divine appointment.”
That night, January 14, 1998, we had around 40 persons in attendance. There was our own small Wednesday crowd, some friends who knew about Pastor Henry and some of my radio listeners. We had prepared ourselves and the entire teaching by Pastor Henry was recorded on audio cassette. After speaking for about two hours or so, he opened up the altars for those who needed healing. Almost the entire congregation lined up, and since I was the pastor, I was asked to work with Henry in praying for the people.
We finished at two o’clock in the morning. We were tired but people who were prayed for had been met by God and some wonderful healings took place. People did not want to leave our church building, despite the late hour, and then it was decided that Pastor Henry would stay one more day and have another meeting.
When Thursday evening came, even though we had not advertised the meeting, we had about 80 persons in attendance. People had called their friends and families and told them to come and hear this man of God. Pastor Henry spent another few hours teaching from the Word of God, which was recorded on audio cassette. Again, we finished praying for the last person around 2:30 in the morning.
A friend of ours, Linda Lange, who we had not seen for some 15 years heard my radio broadcast, changed all her plans and came to the first meeting. She was given a challenge that night and told to write down all hurts and blocks that she could think of that hindered her from being healed, and come back the next night. God used Pastor Henry to lead her to the release of deep root problems, and she was healed from a number of ailments which had tormented her for many years. She became so excited that she formed a women’s ministry called, Life Application Ministries.
She has spent time at Pastor Wright’s training center in Georgia and is now working with Pastor Wright and his staff in ministering to California people in need. She is still working a full time job and is happily married. Here is a woman who was broken, depressed and laden down with diseases. Jesus set her free and today instead of being a “mission field” she is a “missionary.”
THE BOOK “A MORE EXCELLENT WAY”
My wife and I spent time with Pastor Henry and his wife during the three days they were with us and I asked thousands of questions. In our ministry, we have a solid knowledge of how to lead people to Christ, how to seek the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and how to set people free from demonic oppression. Pastor Henry had concentrated on learning the medical terms of diseases, what the medical community believed caused them, and what their remedy was. But then God gave him insight to understand that no disease can come unless there is first a spiritual root problem.
One of the statements that Henry said to me over and over again is that his ministry is that of “DISEASE ERADICATION AND PREVENTION, NOT DISEASE MANAGEMENT.” This statement alone will guarantee the wrath of the Devil and the uproar of the American Medical Association.
I told Henry, “You must put your knowledge in writing. You can only be in one place at one time, but if you put down your knowledge in a book, then pastors and people all over can read it and use your teaching.”
Henry answered me, “Others have said the same thing. I want to do it, but where will I find the time?”
Well, this year his book has been written and I have just received a copy of it. It is a great text book with over 300 pages, and indexed so that you can look up a disease and find the page on which it is discussed. Even though I’ve just started to read the book, I believe that Christians and even unbelievers suffering from terrible diseases can read the book, see the biblical truth, take it to God in prayer and be healed once and for all. If you are not sick yourself, this will give you the tool to minister to people around you.
Most people living today will try different remedies when sickness strikes, but Pastor Henry is very biblical when he states that unless the spiritual root has been detected and taken care off, it will be of no avail. You can change your diet and become a strict vegetarian, take the finest vitamins and supplements on the market and you still will not be healed. We must remember this, disease is a sin problem and sin must be dealt with before God will release a healing.
For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:
But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.
Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.
For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet I will not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.
For thus saith the LORD, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous.
There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines.
All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; because thy sins were increased.
Why criest thou for thine affliction? thy sorrow is incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity: because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee..
The Bible is very clear on this subject:
Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah thereto.
And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
But hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father's house, which were better than thyself:
Behold, with a great plague will the LORD smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods:
And thou shalt have great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day.
Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians:
And they came up into Judah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
And after all this the LORD smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
And it came to pass, that in process of time, after the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness: so he died of sore diseases. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.
Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired. Howbeit they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings.
IDENTIFYING DISEASES
Pastor Henry discusses that some diseases are genetically inherited, and this can take place through a curse upon a family blood line. Other diseases have a spiritual root. Henry believes that all disease is a result of separation on three levels:
- Separation from God and His Word, His person and His love.
- Separation from yourself – not loving yourself.
- Separation from others – breaches in relationships.
In his book he deals with depression, anxiety attacks and the use of Prozac and other mind altering drugs and the terrible effect these have on the human body. He talks honestly about why some people are never healed, and how we can forgive a person even after they have died.
Every disease that is now plaguing people in the United States has a spiritual origin, and Pastor Henry has identified many of them. For example, Crohn’s Disease, Colitis, diabetes, lupus, multiple sclerosis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, addictions of all kinds, Alzheimer’s disease, cholesterol, shingles and hives, acne, all kinds of cancer, osteoporosis, alcoholism, sinus infections, PMS, fibromyalgia, sleep disorders, multiple personality disorders, migraines, asthma, high blood pressure, allergies, chronic fatigue syndrome, panic attacks, phobias of all kinds and many more.
HOW TO GET RID OF A DISEASE
Pastor Henry takes the reader step by step toward the solution for each sickness. It is Bible centered and is in line with the teachings of Jesus. The Bible has all the answers. We just have to find them since the Bible is not written like a textbook. Many of the diseases did not exist at the time of Jesus, or if they did, people did not know what they were. Thus, in a final assessment of Henry’s book, here is what it will do for you:
It will give you insight into why mankind has disease, spiritual roots of disease, disease prevention, blocks to healing, and specific diseases discussed in detail.
