THE DESTINY OF THE HUMAN RACE
PART 1: THE WORLD THAT WAS
RLJ-2048
JOHN S. TORELL
JANUARY 4, 2026
It is a foregone conclusion that humans will live on the earth for a season and after that the death of the body. But the soul is eternal and will live on forever, either in heaven or in the Lake of Fire. Thus, it is important to secure a (life insurance,) salvation, in order to end up in heaven, not in the Lake of Fire.
If we want to know how life will be in heaven, we have to look back in time, to see how life has been prior to Adam and Eve. The Godhead has always existed and all technology in heaven has always existed.
In the Bible we have glimpses of life with God and by looking at the past, we can learn what the future will hold. In this first message we are going to look at the past, in order to know what the future will be for Christians. Jesus told us to prepare for heaven and this is what this series is all about.
Remember, Jesus Christ the same, yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8
BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE UNIVERSE
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit have always existed. They have no beginning or end. Our physical universe has an origin; it has not always existed, and the Bible says it will come to a fiery end.
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.” (2 Peter 3:10-13)
I started preaching the series called THE ORIGIN OF JESUS in 2020.1 The Holy Spirit gave me a vision that the Godhead designed the creation in a giant computer system before the foundation of the world which made it possible to design angels, human beings, and the physical universe. In this way, they performed a virtual time run which allowed them to see exactly how angels and humans would behave in this virtual creation.
The Bible says that Jesus was slain from the foundation of the world. If there was indeed a virtual time run, the decision for Jesus to be killed on the cross occurred in eternity past because of the foresight gained through the virtual time run.
“…the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” (Revelation 13:8b)
The knowledge that life on earth did not begin with Adam and Eve is seldom taught even though the prophets Isaiah and Ezekiel clearly wrote about it which I am going to introduce later in the outline.
Not having a full understanding of the time before Adam and Eve blocks Christians from understanding why humanity was created and the future God has ordained for mankind.
The angels were created before the physical universe.
“Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” (Job 38:4-7)
They populated the cosmos and developed civilizations on the different planets. Earth was one of those planets with Lucifer serving as its regent. There were different people groups which developed cities and nations, and engaged in commerce.
The angelic civilizations are far more technologically advanced than the human race. The Bible does not provide a timeframe from the creation of angels and the universe; it could be billions of years. Scientists claim that the earth is millions of years and they are correct.
Theologians have missed the fact that Genesis chapter one is not simply just the story of the creation. The first verse is the story of creation, the second verse is the account after the devastating space war, and the rest of the chapter is a description of the refurbishment of the earth and creation of mankind.
The days of creation are not normal twenty-four hour days as many suppose; each day represents a thousand year period. We know this is true because the conversion tool was given to the apostle Peter.
“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” (2 Peter 3:8)
CAIN AND ABEL
Scripture does not explicitly state that Cain and Abel were the first children born to Adam and Eve. This raises important questions. After Cain murdered his brother, why did he fear retaliation? Was he concerned only about the response of his parents, or did he fear others? Furthermore, when Cain departed to the land of Nod, whom did he marry? From where did his wife come? And what was the origin of the people already living in Nod?
“And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?
And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.
And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand;
When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.
And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.” (Genesis 4:8-17)
ADAM AND EVE
The truth of the matter is that Adam was created on the sixth day of the refurbishment. Sometime later Eve was cloned from one of Adam’s ribs. They existed on what remained of the sixth day.
“And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:23-28)
“And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” (Genesis 2:20-25)
THE SEVENTH DAY
After Jesus created Adam and Eve, He declared that the finished work of creating humanity was very good.
“And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.” (Genesis 1:31)
God the Son rested on the seventh day, not because He needed to, but to set an example to mankind. This Sabbath day was a thousand years.
If Adam and Eve procreated once a year over a 1,500-year period. Imagine their children also pairing up as couples, beginning to procreate at the age of 25, and each couple having a child once a year. A conservative estimate would place about 60 generations born during this time period. There were easily hundreds of millions of people living outside the Garden of Eden.
Lucifer did not arrive to tempt Eve until the seventh day was over. The apostle Paul stated that all the offspring of Adam and Eve died spiritually when the first couple sinned.
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.” (Romans 5:12-14)
REPLENISH THE EARTH
Now that we have a full biblical understanding of the refurbishment and the creation of Adam and Eve, let’s establish one more fact. Jesus commissioned Adam and Eve to be fruitful on the sixth day. They were told to replenish the earth, indicating something had occurred prior to this command that necessitated their action.
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:28)
The same Hebrew word is used after Noah’s flood.
“And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.” (Genesis 9:1)
TIME BEFORE ADAM AND EVE
There are three passages in the Bible that gives us information about events taking place before the refurbishment of the earth and the creation of Adam and Eve.
Jesus revealed that war erupted in heaven with Lucifer’s rebellion. The rebellious cherub was defeated and cast out of heaven to the earth with his followers.
“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.” (Revelation 12:7-10)
Isaiah and Ezekiel were both given revelations about events that took place on earth before Adam; they point to a time prior to mankind’s presence on earth.
We do not know how long the physical universe existed before Lucifer decided to dethrone God and take His place. This trusted cherub had access to the throne room of God and led the other angels in worship of their Creator. Ultimately, he lost his position, his access to the throne room, his authority, and his holiness. What was sacred became profane through rebellion and he was expelled from heaven.
“Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.” (Ezekiel 28:14-16)
Lucifer was originally exalted and radiant, but he fell through pride and rebellion because he sought equality with God and was cast down to the earth. He operates through deception and destruction and will ultimately be exposed, judged, and humiliated.
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.
But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.
Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.
Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities. (Isaiah 14:12-21)
THE TRIAL OF LUCIFER
The Bible does not explicitly state there was a trial for Lucifer and the other fallen angels, but Jesus did say the Lake of Fire was specially prepared for them.
“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.” (Matthew 25:41)
Scripture does not specifically state Lucifer was judged and found guilty, but the implication is there in Jesus’ words. Why would God cast an innocent angel into the Lake of Fire? There must be a cause and the deduction is that there was a trial for Satan and his minions.
Okay, so they are guilty, but why are they still present and able to inflict mayhem? Simply put, God is proving His righteousness – not to humanity – but to the angels He created.
“But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” (Romans 3:21-26)
If you have ever questioned your existence, now you know why – you were created to prove God’s righteousness.
Humanity was created to prove that God is righteous.
Remember, it’s not so important how you begin your life after salvation, but how you finish it!
