THE ORIGIN STORY OF JESUS

PART 37: SOLOMON’S APOSTASY

RLJ-1826

JOHN S. TORELL

SEPTEMBER 19, 2021

The Godhead paused the virtual run after the death of King David and his request for Solomon to murder Joab and Shimei. 1 Kings 2:5-6, 8-9

They were happy that David had put his trust in the future Redeemer, making him eligible to be moved to Paradise after his body died, but they were unhappy with his last request for murder. Would Solomon carry out this wicked request?

MURDER OF THE FIRST DEGREE
Solomon was not the oldest son of David and he feared that his half-brother would be a threat to him. When Adonijah asked Solomon for permission to marry Abishag, the last concubine of David, he became angry and ordered his murder. 1 Kings 2:13-25

Solomon did not order the death of Abiathar the priest, but banished him from Jerusalem. verses 26-27

Solomon wanted to clean house and ordered the murder of Joab, David’s nephew and military commander. verses 28-34

Then he ordered the murder of Shimei. verses 41-46

BREAKING GOD’S COMMANDMENT
God had made it clear to Moses that the Israelites were not to marry heathens and learn their traditions. Deuteronomy 7:1-4; 18:9-14

Solomon disregarded this commandment and made an alliance with Egypt and married the daughter of Pharaoh. This took place before he was filled with wisdom from God. 1 Kings 3:1

Solomon was like Christians are today; they mingle with the Devil and still claim to love the Lord. 1 Kings 3:3

BESTOWED WITH WISDOM
Despite his mixed devotion, God granted him wisdom and power on the condition that he walked in obedience to the Lord. verses 5-15

As the Godhead witnessed Solomon live his life, they decided that Jesus should give him a warning. 1 Kings 9:1-9

THE CURSE OF THE KABBALAH
There is no record of it in the Bible, but Solomon became involved with the Kabbalah after the temple was built. This insidious belief system dated back to Israel’s time in Egypt.1 Its ugly head reared when Moses’ cousin, Korah, rebelled and tried to take control of the fledging nation. Numbers 16:1-3

• The Kabbalah is also known as the “Zohar” and consists of a set of some 500 books.

• It is claimed that Solomon contributed to this collection of books (scrolls).

• The Kabbalah is an important teaching in Freemasonry and Solomon is credited as the author of parts of the Kabbalah.

• The Kabbalah will also be the religion of the Antichrist.

• There are a number of Jews in Israel and other parts of the world who are part of the Kabbalistic system with their own synagogues. Chabad is the most well- known Jewish group in the Kabbalistic movement.2

The holy number in the Kabbalah is 666 and this number is mentioned three times in the Bible.

1. Solomon demanded tribute and he collected 666 talents of gold each year.  1 Kings 10:14

2. The ivory throne of Solomon was designed so that there were six steps leading to it with a lion on either side of each step. A person standing in front of it would see six lions on the left, six steps in the middle, and six lions on the right. It literally spelled 666 to anyone standing in front of the king. verses 18-20

3. Jesus identified the Kabbalistic system which will give rise to the Antichrist and the false prophet. King Solomon is the unnamed man to whom Jesus refers. Revelation 13:16-18

THE APOSTASY OF SOLOMON
Solomon had a strong libido just like his father. He ran the biggest private whorehouse ever to exist on earth. He accumulated 700 wives and 300 concubines housed in buildings around his palace.3

He also allowed these heathen women from different nations to worship their demon gods and facilitated idolatry by building different places of worship where they could worship their god of choice. 1 Kings 11:1-4

Not only did Solomon erect worship sites for the different demons gods, he also personally worshiped these idols. verses 5-8

Ashtoreth: worship to this demon goddess included sexual immorality, prostitution, divination, and fortune telling.

Milcom/Molech: two names for the same demon god. The statue was made of brass and heated from the lower parts. The hands were stretched out and made hot. A child was put between his hands and burned; its cries were drowned out by a priest with a drum so that the parents didn’t hear the screaming of the child and change their minds.

Chemosh: This demon god was worshipped with human sacrifices.

WAS SOLOMON SAVED?
Many people over the years have wondered if Solomon was saved? Did he go to heaven? The Bible states that “his heart was not perfect with the Lord.” 1 Kings 11:4

The Bible also states that he did evil in God’s sight and fell short. verse 6

His heart was turned from the Lord. verse 9

Solomon wrote the book of Ecclesiastes before he became fully demon possessed. He confessed that all the works he had done and the riches he had accumulated meant nothing because he felt empty and life was pointless. Ecclesiastes 2:1-15

Solomon went to Gibeon after becoming king and worshiped the Lord. When he was old, he visited the altars of demon gods and worshiped Satan.

No verse in the Bible states that Solomon repented of his sins before his death. He never talked about the Redeemer that was to come. My conclusion is that he received supernatural wisdom, but despite the Godhead’s efforts, Solomon still died in his sins.

JESUS INTERVENED
The Godhead realized that the plan of having the twelve tribes of Israel as one nation was not working out and Solomon was informed that his kingdom would be divided.  1 Kings 11:9-13

In much the same way as Jesus told Samuel to anoint David as the next king while Saul was still alive, Jesus moved upon the prophet Ahijah to tell Jeroboam that he was going to serve as king of the ten northern tribes. verses 28-39

Solomon was furious when he discovered what Ahijah had done, and just like Saul tried in vain to kill David, Solomon repeated the mistakes of the past by trying to murder Jeroboam. verse 40

SUMMARY
King Saul ruled for 20 years, King David ruled for 40 years, and King Solomon ruled for 40 years. The kingdom of Israel lasted a grand total of 100 years or 2.5 hours in God’s time.

As the Godhead paused the virtual time run, they knew that most likely Satan would gain control over the ten northern tribes. The Redeemer would arrive to the Kingdom of Judah when all things had been prepared.

The battle for the soul of the Hebrew people would rage for another 900 years before the Redeemer finally arrived from heaven to pay for the sins of humanity.

1. Kabbalah (Hebrew: ָלהבַּקָ, literally “reception, tradition” or “correspondence” is an esoteric method, discipline, and school of thought in Jewish mysticism.
2. Chabad.org is the flagship website of the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic movement. It was one of the first Jewish internet sites and has the largest virtual congregation.
3. More than likely thousands of young men were castrated to serve as eunuchs and guard the king’s whorehouse.

Remember, it’s not so important how you begin your life after salvation, but how you finish it!

Do you have an ear to hear with?
